Madonna released her NFTs series, titled “Mother of Creation”, consisting of 3D videos that recast the famous pop singer as a nude woman giving birth to flora, fauna, and technology.
The digital artworks are the result of a yearlong collaboration with Mike Winkelmann, also known as Beeple, a graphic designer living in Charleston, the USA who does a variety of digital artwork and has worked with Apple, Space X, Nike, Coca-Cola, Adobe, Pepsi, and Samsung.
Madonna is about to donate the proceeds of her NFT collection to three charities, The Voices of Children Foundation, a charity for women and children, The City of Joy, a leadership program for women of the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, and Black Mama’s Bail Out, which uses funds to bail out Black women and caregivers from the carceral system.
The first video from Madonna’s NFT collection shows the avatar of the famous singer giving birth to a tree, as a symbol of the “creator”. After the first collection, two more are expected to follow, entitled “Mother of Evolution” and “Mother of Technology”.
As Madonna announced, “Mother of Evolution” features butterflies, lyrics from Madonna’s hit “Justify My Love,” and original music by Igor Bardykin, and “Mother of Technology” depicts how science can illuminate the world and features the poetry of Rumi.
Madonna entered the Metaverse
“When Mike and I decided to collaborate on this project a year ago, I was excited to have the opportunity to share my vision of the world as a mother and an artist with Mike’s unique point of view,” Madonna explains in a statement.
“It’s been an amazing journey building this together from an intellectual idea to an emotional story, giving birth to art. I wanted to investigate the concept of creation, not only the way a child enters the world through a woman’s vagina but also the way an artist gives birth to creativity. Most importantly we wanted to use this opportunity to benefit mothers and children who are most in need right now.”
Back in March, Madonna announced her baby steps into the Metaverse with the purchase of a Bored Ape token. “I finally entered the Metaverse. My very own Ape! Thanks, MoonPay, we all need protection from Evil Eye” said the pop artist. Since then, Madonna is using her first Bored Ape NFT as her profile image on Twitter.

Twitter was one of the first social media platforms which enabled users to display their NFTs collections or creations. Recently, Instagram has also entered the NFTs’ world by testing a similar feature that allows digital creators to sell their tokens through their social media accounts. Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook is about to offer a similar feature very soon.
Madonna is not the first celebrity who launces her NFT collection. Among others, the famous rapper Snoop Dogg has also released his NFT collection called “A Journey with the Dogg” featuring Snoop’s memories from his early years. Queen of pop culture and entrepreneur Paris Hilton sold her first Crypto Queen NFT in April 2021 for $1.1 million and has her NFT collection with more than 140 tokens.
