The Connectivity Unleashed conference was hosted by GSMA, a global organization unifying the mobile ecosystem to discover, develop and deliver innovation foundational to positive business environments and societal change. The main points of focus during the conference where ground-breaking technologies that will shape the tech industry. Here we mention technologies such as Cloudnet, 5G connect, FinTech, Internet of Things, Advanced AI, Tech Horizon, Cyber Security Advanced and more. But the MWC was much more than just a showroom displaying the latest trends in the technology world. This conference was a place where you could share your experiences and help creating new relationships with innovative people from around the globe.
“We are delighted to share thoughts and experience on socio-economic transformation through the bridge built by the GSMA in MWC22. It united global insights, crossed the industrial boundaries and linked to an exciting digital future”,-said Xiao Ming, President of Global Sales, ZTE Corporation, during the conference.
MWC22 was based on a hybrid concept, where besides the physical event; everyone could attend virtually and be a part of different seminars and showcases. Some shocking numbers that were presented at the MWC Post Event Report mentioned that during the four day conference, it had over 61,000 people attending live and almost 652,000 views online over the event campaign with more than 103,000,000 online impressions over the social media campaigns.
But more than just displaying the latest technologies, this conference offered more than 1000 speakers to bring their ideas, works and experiences into the 4YFN stage and share them with everyone that was able to attend the conference live or virtually. 4YFN is the startup event of the world’s largest exhibition for the mobile industry, GSMA MWC that supports startups, investors and companies to connect and launch new business ventures together.
We at 4imag were lucky to follow some tech talks organized by 4YFN, which their topics spiked our interest quite a lot, and we gathered some interesting facts. The ‘The tenets of Good Cyber Security today’ talk highlighted that during the 2021 the number of data breaches surpassed the 2020’s total number by more than a fifth. Also it was noted that the most common attack happening was ransomware, which is nowadays considered to have drastically changed and be more advanced in the way it works.
But besides technical talks, there were a lot of general talks that discussed about ongoing problems on today’s market, and the difficulties that one could encounter in the tech working world. In the ‘Frontier technologies: Unleashing the creator’s economy’ it was specifically discussed how new technologies are changing the today’s market and what challenges are facing businesses and new startups.
Besides the talks, 4imag got the opportunity to meet up with some very innovative companies and their representatives that were present at the conference, wanting to share and spread their new ideas to the tech world. These companies belonged to different working fields in technology such as cyber security, Internet of Things, information systems, data management and many more.
For example, an interesting company in the cyber security field that we encountered during the conference was Talsec, an innovative community-driven mobile security company, that delivers in-App Protection and a User Safety suite for Fintech. The innovation behind their idea was about offering app safety as a Service which includes app and API protection SDK, Penetration testing, monitoring service and much more.
In the Internet of Things field, we met with some innovative and IoT enthusiasts from the iotcreators.com, which is an innovative startup that helps in designing and building IoT solutions, with a goal to reach mobile IoT development more accessible to people.
From a beautiful mix up of IoT and cyber security comes along asvin.io, a company that has designed and developed a secure platform with advanced cryptographic algorithms to keep safe Industry IoT (IIoT) devices from every cyber attacks happening at all times.
And lastly to gather every working field, Norlean, a company which we met during the MWC, seems like a perfect business solution. NOA is a Cloud platform capable of simulating different scenarios through data and process analysis to improve and optimize the different areas of a company.
Basically we can sum up that MWC conference was a hit, not only for the latest technologies that were presented during the conference, but also for the innovative ideas and businesses that people were able to share, discuss and collaborate with other professionals of these technology working areas. Now when we look back in retrospective we can surely say that MWC environment was definitely filled with inspiration, talent and innovation from different corners of the world, which left us wonder what will the next year have in store for us.
